Volkswagen T25 / T3 Diamond RV Popular Camper Model History
Circa July 1984 Diamond R.V. introduced the Volkswagen T25 / T3 model called the Diamond RV Popular. Available in Tin Top (2 berth), Hightop (2 berth or 4 berth) or Elevating Roof (2 berth or 4 berth) configurations. The layout was fairly typical of the day with furniture along side the offside behind the driver and a full width seat / bed across the rear centre. The main difference between this and the Autostrada model was that this incorporated a full width bed and the Autostrada had a 3/4 width rock n roll seat / bed. Bench seat reconfigures to to create a full width double bed (1575 mm x 1830 mm)
Other features include: Portable two gallon fresh water tank. Centre island table. Table top is stored in brackets above rear bench seat when not in use. All the windows are fully curtained. Fully woollen type lining throughout . Rubber floor lining in cab and rear living area carpeted. Tinted glass. Roof locker in rear. Various lights including fluorescent light and two other lights.
